you cant use a full song mp3 as a ring tone. you have to edit the file with a editor i use sound forge 9 and select the part of the song you want as a ring tone no more then 20 seconds as i tested then put the song on your phone. never put any song you might want to use as a ring tone or you may want to blue tooth to someone in the music folder of the lg shine you will not have access to the song to blue tooth it or apply it as a ring tone... now you can only blue tooth a song or set it as a ring tone in the my stuff/ audio and tones section of the phone any edits like rename or bt or set as ring id or ring tone must be done here not in the music player no edits can be done there..

My apologies, but could you clear that up a bit? I'm sure it's quite simple, but I have absolutely no idea what you're trying to say. I think some of your sentences are joined together, which makes it quite confusing.

I'm stoked to hear what you have to say, though, because I'm looking to put my own ring tones on my phone Smiley.

OK .. you can not use a full mp3 song as a ring tone... here's what you do..

1. Use any wave editor you wish to edit the song. Select 20 seconds of the song ( give or take a few seconds ) save it.

2. Transfer the song to your lg shine. Do not save the song in the music folder the lg shine creates ( micro sd users ). Either  save it to the phone or create a ring tone folder on your micro sd, or just save it on the micro sd (no folder at all).

3. On your phone select menu/my stuff/audio & ringtones. Highlight the ringtone you made and choose options then set as.

Hope this is a lil better...

a lil tip : An easier way to view all your folders and songs on your lg shine micro sd is to go to my stuff/memory card. you can set ringtones and blue tooth files from here too.

Do you see a folder called music on your sd micro card. If there is check it for your downloaded music. The shine likes to put music you download in that folder. I use a micro sd adapter to transfer music to my micro sd then put it back in my phone. I never use the music folder because you can not blue tooth or set ring ids from that folder. I made my own folder for my ring tones and i put my music directly on the sd micro ( no folder or the folder i ripped my music to eg. jay z - black album folder). hope this helps..

Do I HAVE TO upload the ringtone onto a microSD?? I tried everything else...the software for my TU720 wont detect my phone, and changing the songs to under 20 seconds didnt do ANYTHING..

I can now see my songs listed under the audio & ring tunes in the media section, and can play them, but i still cant add it as my ringtone...HELP?!? Even the under 20 second song still only has the option of "send via" and not "set as" like the default ringtones listed..

Can someone PLEASE help me out?!? I honestly did not think that it would be such a hassle to get my custom ring tone working, as it was very easy THREE years ago on my motorola V220...This is just annoying...please help
